Bergenia 'Bressingham White'

Bergenia "Bressingham White", in Dutch called cobbler plant, is an attractive evergreen perennial with a polishing habit and large leathery, decorative leaves on fleshy stems, the leaf color is light green to medium green in summer and burgundy red in autumn and winter. This bergenia blooms in April and May with fragrant, pure white, bell-shaped flowers on upright stems. The cobbler plant is very hardy, does well in partial shade, shade and sun and is undemanding to soil, although it prefers fresh, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Bergenia "Bressingham White" is sea wind tolerant and is very resistant to air pollution.
