Skimmia jap. 'Fragrant Cloud'

Skimmia japonica "Fragrant Cloud," also called skimmia "fragrans," is a small, evergreen, male shrub with a compact, dome-shaped habit and glossy, leathery, lanceolate, dark green leaves. The flower clusters embellish this skimmia as early as October and finally bloom in April/May with fragrant, green-white flowers. Skimmia japonica "Fragrant Cloud" likes a position in partial shade or shade and is not fussy about the type of soil, as long as it is well-drained and rich in humus. The plant is reasonably to hardy, tolerant of sea wind and air pollution, has few problems with diseases or pests and requires little pruning.
