Magnolia sieboldii

Magnolia sieboldii, also called magnolia oyama. It is a medium to large, deciduous tree with a spreading, upright habit. It has elongated, elliptical to ovate leaves, which are medium green to dark green and have a felty underside. In June and July, this magnolia blooms with fragrant, white flowers with striking carmine-red stamens. The magnolia sieboldii likes a position in full sun or light shade and prefers a not too heavy, acidic to neutral, moist soil. This deciduous magnolia is low maintenance, requires little pruning, is reasonably hardy, produces beautiful, pinkish fruits with orange seeds in the fall and also has a beautiful amber-colored autumn leaf.
