Ligustrum 'Vicaryi'

Ligustrum ovalifolium 'aureum', also called yellow-variegated large-leaved privet, is a medium-sized, semi-evergreen shrub with a dense upright habit. The leaves are variegated, elongated, ovate, obovate, green with a yellow margin. In July and August, this Japanese privet blooms with white to ivory-coloured fragrant panicle-shaped flowers, followed in autumn by small blue-black berries that are a delight for the birds. Ligustrum ovalifolium aureum likes a position in full sun or partial shade and is satisfied with any soil that is not too wet and therefore well-drained. the plant is attractive to bees and butterflies, tolerates sea wind well and is also tolerant of air pollution.
