Hypericum dummeri 'Peter Dummer'

Hypericum 'hidcote' is a small semi-evergreen shrub that flowers from the end of July to September with golden yellow star-shaped flowers. This autumn hay variety has medium green to dark green, elongated and lance-shaped leaves, is densely branched and has a wide-growing shape, sometimes the branches can hang slightly overhanging. Hypericum 'hidcote' likes a sunny or semi-shade position and does well in almost any soil, can withstand some drought and can be pruned back radically every year in the spring. This hypericum is very resistant to disease, can also tolerate some sea wind and is tolerant of air pollution. It attracts bees and butterflies, is fairly hardy and can be used in group plantings as a hedge or ground cover.
