Fatsia japonica
Fatsia japonica, called finger plant in Dutch, is an evergreen large shrub with a round, dense shape and beautiful deeply lobed, dark green, glossy leaves, toothed, palmately lobed and pointed. In autumn it blooms with beautiful creamy white flowers in spherical clusters, later followed by first spherical green fruits that turn black during the winter and ripen at the end of spring. Fatsia japonica likes a position in filtered sunlight to partial shade and some protection against harsh winds and the blazing midday sun. Every type of soil is sufficient, except for soil that is too calcareous, but it is also tolerant of sea wind and air pollution.
