Cytisus scoparius forms a highly branched broom-shaped shrub with green branches. These retain their green color in winter, giving the impression that the shrub is evergreen.
The leaves are green, small and round, they fall off quickly.
Blooms with yellow butterfly-like flowers in May and June with sometimes a rebloom in September/October.
