Acer palm. 'Inaba Shidare'

Acer palmatum 'inaba shidara', small Japanese maple with wine-red to deep purple leaves. It is a small, slow growing shrub. In autumn the foliage turns scarlet red. The acer palmatum 'inaba shidare' likes sun with light shade, preferably in a moist, slightly acidic soil and somewhat sheltered from strong winds, not a coastal plant, but tolerant of air pollution.
