Acer palm. 'Garnet'

Acer palmatum garnet, small Japanese maple with finely divided leaves. It is a graceful shrub with a spherical to umbel-shaped crown, slow growing and especially popular for its beautiful leaves and autumn colours. The five to nine-lobed deeply dissected leaves are reddish purple and turn to scarlet red in the fall. It is a shrub for any kind of garden, park or can also be used as a bonsai. Likes sun with light shade, preferably in a moist, slightly acidic soil and somewhat sheltered from strong winds, not a coastal plant, but tolerant of air pollution.
