Armeria mar. 'Rosea Compacta'

Armeria maritima 'Rosea', also called English grass or beach herb in Dutch, is an evergreen perennial with a ground covering, compact and clump-forming habit. The leaves are dark green, grassy and grow to about 10cm long. From May to July, Armeria maritima 'Rosea' blooms abundantly with spherical bright pink flower heads on stiffly upright flower stems. This English grass likes a position in full sun or partial shade and requires a light, well-drained soil. The plant is drought tolerant, hardy and also tolerant to sea wind and air pollution. It is often used in rock gardens, alpine gardens, gravel gardens, in stone walls and can also be used as a cut flower and in a dry bouquet.
