Polystichum set. 'Plumoso Densum'

Polystichum setiferum "Plumoso densum", called soft coniferous fern in Dutch, is a small, beautiful old variety with a flat horizontal habit. It has soft, bi- to tri-feathered, light green, overlapping and slightly crimped feathers. This elegant fern likes a sheltered position in partial shade or shade and a well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich, slightly moist soil. Polystichum setiferum "Plumoso densum" is hardy, fairly air pollution and sea wind tolerant and once well established, sufficiently drought resistant. It is not bothered by pests and is also very disease resistant.
