Polystichum setiferum "Herrenhausen", called soft coniferous fern in Dutch, is a beautiful elegant German selection. It has soft, bi-feathered, bright green and slightly curled feathers. This fern likes a sheltered position in partial shade or shade and a well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich, slightly moist soil. Polystichum setiferum "Herrenhausen" is hardy, fairly air pollution and sea wind tolerant and once well established, sufficiently drought resistant.
