Papaver orientale "pink ruffles", also called oriental poppy, is a deciduous perennial, with an upright habit. The leaves are medium green, silvery, hairy, deeply cut, toothed and feathered. This oriental poppy flowers from May to July, with large, exotic, salmon pink flowers, with a striking black spot at the base of each petal. The petals are crumpled and curled like crepe paper. Papaver orientale "pink ruffles" likes a position in full sun and a well-drained, not too wet, light soil.
