Convallaria maj. 'Rosea'
Convallaria majalis 'Rosea' is called lily of the valley or meiklokje and is a low-growing, colony-forming perennial with bright green lanceolate leaves and pleasantly fragrant pink waxy flowers that hang in clusters from the flower stem during the months of April and May. Small red berries follow after flowering. Since all parts of the bluebell are poisonous and contain both glycosidic components and saponin, caution is recommended in children. Convallaria likes partial shade, shade or filtered sunlight under trees or shrubs. The plant is hardy, attracts butterflies and bees, is pest free and fairly tolerant of air pollution.
