Astrantia maj. 'Buckland'

Astrantia major 'Buckland' is a deciduous perennial with a bushy upright form and medium green, palmately divided leaves. This plant is called "zeeuwsknopje" in Dutch and flowers from June to September with beautiful pink-green flowers with white bracts. Astrantia likes a position in filtered sunlight or partial shade and a well-drained moist soil. This plant is very hardy, attracts butterflies and bees and is moderate to good air pollution and sea wind tolerant. Astrantia is often used in borders, shade gardens, informal gardens and as underplanting under trees that are not superficially rooted.
