Mentha cervina
Mentha cervina (syn. Preslia cervina), also called English water mint, is a deciduous aquatic plant with an upright shape. The leaves are lanceolate, smooth-edged, medium green to gray-green colored and strongly aromatic. English water mint blooms from July to September, with lilac flowers grouped in a wreath-shaped inflorescence. Mentha cervina prefers a position in the sun or partial shade and a, preferably, slightly moist soil. The plant is hardy, tolerant of sea wind, tolerates air pollution, is fairly disease resistant and has few problems with pests. English watermint can be used in tea and gives a specific spearmint aroma. Since this currency does not proliferate, it is better suited for the city garden and small pond than mentha aquatica.
