Equisetum fluviatile

Equisetum fluviatile, called holpijp in Dutch. The plant is characterized by the unbranched, upright, attractive-looking green hollow stems, the brown to black serrated scales on the stems are actually the leaves. The habit of the hollow pipe is upright, clump-forming, this plant spreads via rhizome (too) smoothly in width. Equisetum fluviatile likes a sheltered position in full sun, is ph flexible, and does well in any fertile, wet to moist soil, the plant can also be planted under water from 20 to 50 cm. Equisetum fluviatile is very hardy, tolerant to sea wind and salt, is also resistant to disease and has few pests. Holpijp is air pollution tolerant and has a good water purifying effect.
