Alisma plantago-aquatica

Alisma plantago-aquatica, in Dutch called large water plantain, is a deciduous aquatic plant with a high upright, widely distributed habit. The leaves are spoon-shaped, colored gray-green to silver-green. Water plantain blooms from June to August with white to pinkish white flowers in a loose panicle-shaped inflorescence. Alisma plantago-aquatica likes a position in full sun and prefers to stand 10 to 30 cm deep with its feet in the water, although it can also temporarily cope with drier conditions. The plant is hardy, tolerates sea wind and is disease resistant.
