Nymphaea tetragona

Nymphaea tetragona is a true dwarf water lily. This small, white flowering variety is suitable for medium to small ponds. The small leaves first appear purplish-green and then, during the season, turn decoratively darker green, with brown spots. This water lily blooms from June to October, with small, odorless, cup-shaped, white flowers, with a golden yellow center and the diameter of the flower is barely 3 to 7 cm. As soon as the flower has finished flowering, the seeds sink to the bottom. Nymphaea tetragona prefers a position in full sun, a water depth of 0.15 to 0.40 meters and a nutrient-rich soil. The plant is very hardy and attracts butterflies, bees and other insects.
