Nymphaea 'Madame Wilfron Gonnère'
Nymphaea "madame wilfron gonnère" is a beautiful, bright pink water lily for the medium to small pond. Introduced in 1912, this water lily blooms from June to September with medium-sized, double, cup-shaped, bright pink flowers with a yellow center. As soon as the flower has finished flowering, the seeds sink to the bottom. The leaves are large and round. They are bronze-colored at first, with a yellow longitudinal stripe emerging, later more uniformly green-brown. Nymphaea "madame wilfron gonnère" likes a warm position in full sun or partial shade, a water depth of 0.30 to 0.60 meters and a nutrient-rich soil. The plant is hardy, attracts bees and other insects, tolerates sea wind and is also tolerant to air pollution.
