Nymphaea 'Laydekeri Lilacea'

Nymphaea "laydekeri lilacea" is a beautiful, pink-red water lily for the medium to small pond. Introduced over 120 years ago, this water lily blooms from May to August, with small, delicately scented, cup-shaped, lilac-pink to pink-red flowers with a yellow center. As soon as the flower has finished flowering, the seeds sink to the bottom. The leaves are small, round and olive green in color with some purple spots. Nymphaea "laydekeri lilacea" likes a warm place in full sun, a water depth of 0.30 to 0.50 meters and a nutrient-rich soil. The plant is hardy, attracts butterflies, bees and other insects, tolerates sea wind and is also tolerant to air pollution.
