Schizachyrium scop. 'Prairie Blues'

Stiff upright grasses with a blue-gray color.

Narrow leaves that emerge quite late but turn a beautiful orange-red-purple color in autumn.

It grows to a height of 40cm, but with its fine transparent, plume-like bloom it reaches 100cm.

Likes a nutrient-rich, permeable, moderately dry soil.

Pruning is done in the spring.
