Pennisetum alopecuroides is a perennial grass that occurs naturally mainly in parts of Australia and Asia.

Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Red Head' flowers with almost black plumes.

To promote rapid regrowth, the culms should be cut early in the spring. Also used in dry bouquets. Very hardy.

The soil should remain slightly moist.
