Panicum virg. 'Warrior'
Panicum virgatum 'Warrior', in Dutch called finger grass, is a medium-sized deciduous grass species with an upright, clump-forming habit. The attractive linear leaves are medium green and turn golden yellow later in autumn. Panicum virgatum 'Warrior' flowers from June to October with airy reddish-brown to purple-pink flower panicles that turn a fairly beige-yellow color once the seed begins to ripen. Finger grass prefers a sunny position in slightly moist, well-drained, not too fertile soil. This plant is very hardy, reasonably drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution well, has little or no problems with pests or diseases. Panicum virgatum 'warrior' is useful in borders, prairie garden, flower meadow and interesting for group planting.
