Carex buchananii

Carex buchananii is called red sedge in English and is a small, evergreen grass with narrow, overhanging, orange-brown leaves with a curled tip. Red sedge flowers from July to September with striking brown flower spikes. This grass prefers a position in full sun, partial shade and a well-permeable, especially not too wet soil in the winter months. The plant is fairly drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution.
