Stephanandra inc. 'Crispa'
Stephanandra incisa "Crispa" is also called small wreath spirea in Dutch. It is a small, compact, deciduous, low-growing ornamental shrub. In growth form, this shrub is slightly wider than it is tall with characteristic pendulous branches. The leaves are maple-like, deeply incised, colored bright green in summer and spring, orange-yellow in fall. From May to June it blooms with small, star-shaped, white-green to yellow-green flowers. This wreath spirea likes a position in sun or partial shade and does well in all well-drained soil types. It is very flexible in terms of soil pH. Stephanandra requires regular pruning, is very hardy and is a good nectar plant for butterflies and bees. Stephanandra is resistant to disease and virtually pest free.
