Veronicastrum virg. 'Album'

Veronicastrum virginicum "album", also called "virginische ereprijs" in Dutch, is a striking deciduous perennial with a very upright habit and dark green sword-shaped leaves that are grouped in a circle in tiers around the upright stems. This Speedwell blooms from June to September with slender white flower spikes up to 30 cm long, composed of tiny white flowers. Veronicastrum virginicum "album" prefers a position in full sun or partial shade and a well-drained, moderately moist, moderately fertile soil. The plant is very hardy. The plant tolerates moderate sea breezes, is air pollution tolerant, pest free and attracts many butterflies and bees.
