Tiarella cordifolia

Tiarella cordifolia, called foam flower or persian cap in Dutch, is an evergreen to semi-winter green perennial with a pol-forming habit and attractive lightly hairy, lobed and serrated, heart-shaped light green leaves that turn beautifully to bronze-red in autumn. Persian cap blooms from April to June with creamy-white, sometimes pink-hued, five-leaved star-shaped flowers in airy flower spikes. Tiarella cordifolia prefers a sheltered position in partial shade or shade and requires a well-permeable, humus-rich, slightly moist soil. The plant is very hardy and can be used in the shade garden, in borders and as underplanting of roses and shrubs.
