Stokesia laevis

Stokesia grows to 30cm and blooms with lilac blue flowers from August to October.

Very similar to cornflowers but not completely hardy. Wet feet are usually disastrous for this plant. Also covers the plant in severe frost.

Plant it in a well-drained normal garden soil in a warm place, but it can tolerate drought.

Is semi-evergreen in mild winters.
