Sisyrinchium californicum, also called yellow rush lily, is an evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial with a grassy, clump-forming habit. This rush lily has sword-shaped, grassy, gray-green leaves and blooms from late May to July with fragrant, star-shaped, yellow flowers. The plant prefers a position in full sun or light shade and prefers a well-permeable, moisture-retaining soil. Sisyrinchium californicum is moderately to moderately hardy, tolerates sea wind and air pollution.
