Scabiosa cauc. 'Alba'

Scabiosa caucasica "Alba", also called Caucasian pigeon herb, is a deciduous perennial with a pol-forming habit. The leaves are gray-green to blue-green and lance-shaped at the base, the upper leaves are lobed. This pigeon herb blooms from June to September with white solitary flowers with a creamy yellow center. During flowering, overblown flowers should be removed to encourage prolonged flowering. Scabiosa caucasia prefers a sunny position and only thrives in neutral, very permeable soil. The plant hates wet feet. Scabiosa caucasica "Alba" is hardy, drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution and is virtually free from diseases or pests. It is an ideal plant for the border.
