Saponaria ocymoides

Saponaria ocymoides, also called soapwort, is a semi-evergreen ground cover perennial with small downy lance-shaped to egg-shaped gray-green leaves. Soapwort blooms abundantly from May to July with small pink flowers that are grouped in loose clusters. The plant prefers a position in full sun and prefers a neutral to calcareous soil that is well permeable and moderately fertile. Saponaria can be pruned back every year after flowering, the plant is very hardy and disease resistant.
