Potentilla aurea

Potentilla aurea, called gander in English, is a deciduous perennial with a carpet-forming, ground-covering shape and three-lobed elliptical leaves. It blooms particularly profusely from May to July with golden yellow buttercup-like flowers with a dark yellow eye. This gander likes a position in full sun or partial shade and does well in almost any soil type. In full sun, the flowers bloom earlier and the color contrast is less intense. It is very hardy, reasonably drought resistant, tolerates salty sea wind, air pollution, attracts bees and butterflies and is disease-free and does not suffer from pests.
