Perovskia atripl. 'Lacey Blue'

Perovskia "lacey blue", also called blue spirea, is a small, deciduous shrub, with an upright and spreading habit and beautiful, lavender to blue flowers, in narrow flasks of tubular flowers. The leaves are gray-green, coarsely serrated and fragrant when crushed. Perovskia prefers a sunny position in a pH-neutral to calcareous, well-drained soil. It requires a good pruning every autumn to 20 cm from the ground and a winter protective layer of leaves. Blue spirea is moderately to fairly hardy, disease and drought resistant, tolerant to sea wind, pest free and can also handle some air pollution.
