Papaver orientale "prinzessin victoria louise", also called oriental poppy, is a deciduous perennial with an upright habit. The leaves are gray-green, silver-colored, hairy, deeply cut, serrated and feathery. Blooming from May to June, this oriental poppy has large, bowl-shaped, salmon-pink flowers, with a striking black-purple spot at the base of each petal. The petals are crumpled and curled like crepe paper. Papaver orientale "prinzessin victoria louise" prefers a position in full sun and a well-drained, light soil that is not too wet.
