Lychnis chalcedonica

Lychnis chalcedonica, also called burning love, a name it gets from its fiery red flowers. It is a short-lived, medium-sized, deciduous perennial with a clump-forming habit and gray-green, rough-haired, oval leaves. The plant blooms in June and July with small, fiery red flowers grouped in striking flower heads. It likes a position in full sun and a well-drained soil. Once established, this lychnis is drought tolerant, tolerates maritime climates and is very suitable for the cottage garden and mixed border. Burning love is hardy and disease resistant.
