Helleborus argutifolius
Helleborus argutifolius, synonym Helleborus corsicus is an evergreen perennial with a beautiful pol-forming habit and dark green to gray-green leathery, spiky-edged leaves. This hellebore blooms from February to April with greenish-yellow, cup-shaped flowers, grouped in lush umbels. This hellebore likes a position in partial shade, but also does well in full sun and full shade. It prefers well-drained, neutral or alkaline soil, but also tolerates slightly acidic soil. This plant is fairly hardy, but does appreciate some winter protection in severe winters. Once established, h. Argutifolius is also fairly drought tolerant.
