Geum cocc. 'Borisii'

Geum coccineum 'Borisii', also called nailwort in Dutch, is a deciduous perennial with a compact, clump-forming habit. The leaves are hairy, medium green, serrated and lobed, the plant blooms from May to August with medium-sized semi-double orange-red flowers. Geum coccineum likes a position in full sun or partial shade and does well in any fertile, well-drained soil, once established this plant is fairly drought tolerant. Nail herb is hardy, disease resistant and has few problems with pests. This plant attracts butterflies and bees and is often used in the rock garden or alpine garden. It is also a good cut flower.
