Hesperis matr. 'Alba'
Hesperis matronalis "Alba" is often called damask flower or night violet in Dutch. It is an evergreen perennial with a bushy upright habit and dark green, hairy and serrated elliptical leaves. This hesperis flowers from May to June with small, single, pleasantly scented white flowers and prefers a position in full sun or partial shade. The plant prefers a well-permeable, neutral to calcareous soil type, is hardy, spreads (too) well, is sea wind and air pollution tolerant and can be used well as a border plant and along the forest edge. Hesperis matronalis "Alba" is a short-lived plant that spreads a pleasant scent and attracts many butterflies, bees and insects.
