Knautia macedonica
Knautia macedonica, syn. Scabiosa rumelica, known in Dutch as 'meadow crown', is an attractive deciduous perennial with an upright and polished habit. The leaves are gray-green, slightly lobed at the base of the plant and more divided higher up. from July to September this meadow crown blooms with dark red to purple-red scabiosa-like flowers of about 3.5 to 4.5 cm in diameter. Knautia macedonica is a sunflower and likes a position in full sun, the soil must be moderately fertile, well permeable and neutral or rich in calcium.
