Cytisus 'Burkwoodii'
Cytisus 'burkwoodii' syn. C.scoparius 'burkwoodii' is a medium sized deciduous broom with a spreading form and overhanging branches, it blooms in me with pink to crimson flowers with a light red throat and yellow margins. This broom likes a position in full sun and prefers to grow in neutral to acidic soil. The Cytisus burkwoodii is well wind and sea wind tolerant and can therefore be planted in the coastal region. Pruning is done after flowering if desired. In the fall, olive-green seed pods adorn this broom. The plant is also very resistant to air pollution, can be used as a solitary, accent plant in the garden or in public greenery.
