Chaenomeles jap. 'Sargentii'
Chaenomeles japonica , dwarf quince is family of the rosaceae, the mature height of this deciduous shrub rarely exceeds 1m, chaenomeles jap. 'sargentii' blooms with orange-red flowers on the bare wood and golden yellow edible fruits appear in autumn, which can be used in jam. These shrubs do well in almost any type of soil, as long as it is sufficiently permeable, but there is a slight preference for acidic soil, chlorosis can occur in too calcareous soils. Pruning is best done in the spring after flowering.

Imperata cyl. 'Red Baron'
Imperata cylindrica "Red Baron", syn. "Rubra", called Japanese blood grass in Dutch, is a decorative deciduous grass with a stiff, upright growth and a loose, clump-forming habit. The narrow linear leaves are fresh green and then turn a fiery red in summer, flowering is rare in Europe. In other regions Japanese blood grass blooms from July to August with silver-gray flower spikes. Imperata cylindrica "Red Baron" likes a sunny and sheltered position in a well-drained soil. This grass is drought tolerant, reasonably hardy, tolerates sea wind and air pollution and is a special accent plant for use in the border.

Chaenomeles spec. 'Nivalis'
Chaenomeles speciosa 'nivalis', this ornamental quince is a medium-sized deciduous shrub that does very well against a sheltered wall. This ornamental quince is one of the first to bloom with pure white flowers on the still bare branches in early spring. In autumn, golden yellow edible berries follow, which are quite aromatic and often used in jam. This chaenomeles nivalis is fairly hardy (15°c) and also somewhat sea wind tolerant, making application on the coast possible. It does well in all types of soil from acidic to slightly calcareous and from poor sandy soil to wet heavy clay. Pruning is recommended after flowering.

Koeleria glauca, called torch grass in Dutch, is a small evergreen to semi-evergreen grass with a rough, clump-forming habit and narrow, linear blue-green culms. Torch grass flowers from June to August with brown-green, later silver-gray flower panicles and prefers a position in full sun or partial shade. Chaenomeles superba 'jet trail' this ornamental quince is a sport (spontaneous mutation) of chaenomeles x superba 'scarlett wonder' , it is a creeping small perennial, which flowers in the months of arpil, May on bare wood and branches with young budding leaves. The flowers are creamy white, slightly fragrant and are followed in autumn by golden yellow, aromatic fruits, which somewhat resemble apples and are used in jam or in flower arranging. Pink lady blooms in early spring (March, April), with beautiful bright pink flowers on the bare or sparsely leafed, perennial wood.
