The evergreen leaves are very narrow, curved, grassy and dark green in color. This small snake beard blooms from July to October, with white to pale lilac flowers on short stems. Ophiopogon japonicus "Minor" likes a position in full sun, but also does well in partial shade or even shade. The soil should preferably be moist and the acidity of the soil should be between 5.50 and 7.50. The plant is fairly drought tolerant and hardy, but can use extra winter protection in harsh winters.
